NEWS ARGENTINA: La Rioja has expansion project.
On recent days, it transpired that the company IMPSA obtained the tender for the expansion of the wind farm of La Rioja, on which more than 230 million pesos (Argentine) will be invested, and consist of 11 new wind turbines. It will begin operations in 2010. The 11 turbines will have an output of 2.1MW, the model is IMPSA IWP-83 and will be built in factories that the company has in Mendoza. It should be noted that with the wind farm Arauco, where the first stage of the generation works is developed, la Rioja is seeking its energy independence. It is worth mentioning that IMPSA will be providing the turnkey project, operation and maintenance of the expansion of the wind farm Arauco, with a base of 2.1MW installed power to an installed capacity of 25.2MW. But a third phase is planned, which will reach 90MW.
