NEWS BRAZIL: Argentinean Company sells part of wind project to continue investing.
In recent days, the Argentinean Company IMPSA sold a part of its Ceara project, through Energimp its subsidiary based in Brazil. The buyer is “Companhia Energetica de Minas Gerais” (CEMIG). CEMIG will be a partner of the project, earning 49% of the Ceara wind farm, in exchange of $93.14 million dollars. The Ceara project will have a total of sixty-six 1.5 MW wind turbines, producing a total of 100MW that will be divided in three wind farms. These 100 MW add to a total of 217 MW of other 10 wind farms that IMPSA has in Brazil. The company is expected to create more than 7.600 direct and indirect jobs. Also, IMPSA informed the money obtained from this partnership will be used to continue developing new wind farms in the country. The company have already started planning a wind power equipment plant in the state of Pernambuco.
