Aiming to diversify the local economy, the Santa Cruz provincial government along with the company Vertek Systems, recently signed an agreement to install a wind turbine facility to be located near the capital of the province, Río Gallegos.
This project will generate around 200 jobs for manufacturing 1.75 MW wind turbines with a height of 70 meters each.
The objective is to develop a 400 MW wind farm to supply energy for the national market.
Currently, both parties are setting the installation of wind measurement stations as well as the completion of final design, environmental impact studies and the location of the area to install the facility.
