CHILE: The CFI of the World Bank will invest for developing the Totoral wind farm

On February 9, the World Bank announced that they will fund, through the International Finance Corporation (CFI, for its Spanish acronym), their first wind farm in Latin America; in this case, the recipient country is Chile.

The Totoral wind farm will be located 300 kilometers from Santiago of Chile.

The project will be developed with a group of investors and leaded by the company DnB NOR of Norway. Both parts will contribute with 30.75 million dollars, reaching a total of 61.5 million.

Also, the World Bank said that the Totoral wind farm will start operating during 2009.
