CHILE: The French company ALSTOM will invest for installing several wind farms

In recent days, the French company Alstom, specialized in wind turbines manufacture, informed that they plan to enter the Chilean energetic sector, investing in several wind projects that could have an installed capacity between 40 and 60 MW each.

The CEO of Alstom Chile considered that the first wind farm to develop would start operating between 2012 – 2013, since for the first stage, they will research viable zones and measure the wind to determine how many wind farms will be installed in the country and the investment needed to develop them.

In turn, the executive was optimistic in relation to an investment in the South American country, emphasizing that the Chilean standard in energy is committed with serious environmental procedures, taking into account that it will be the first intervention of the firm in Latin America.
