NEWS COSTA RICA: Launching of tender for EVCSA wind farm already has bidders
In recent days, Eólico Valle Central (EVCSA) launched the tender for installing a wind farm of 15.3 MW, which will cost up to $38.3 million US dollars, and will be located in the province of Santa Ana, about 15 kilometers from the national capital. The wind farm will have 18 turbines, which will supply electricity to approximately 30 thousand people. It was informed that the company already had three bidders: Sinohydro, Consorcio Eólico Valle Centra JBM, and Consorcio Eduinter-TSK. However, they clarified that the award decision will take approximately 3 months. It is worth mentioning that the project is a joint venture initiative between the Central American Bank of Economic Integration, providing $35 million US dollars, and the Costa Rican CNFL power company, providing the remaining $3.3 million. It is estimated that the wind farm will be in full operation by 2011. Editor: Julia Ruiz Diaz Source (In Spanish):
