The construction of the Gibara II wind farm, in the province of Holguín, will be finished and operating shortly, since the Chinese equipment for its construction has already arrived.

The wind farm will have an installed capacity of 4.5 MW, produced by 6 units of 750 volts. Currently, prior studies have already been performed, which determined that the foundations of the wind turbines will need to be built higher than it was originally contemplated, due to the natural weather of the island.

The project is carried out by several institutions: the Ministry of Construction, the projects company Vértice, Energoimport, as the supplier, and the Electricity Company of Holguin, as the investor.
