MEMBERS’ PRESS RELEASE NRG Systems expands product offerings to serve industry demands for greater accuracy and reliability.
Hinesburg, VT—NRG Systems, Inc., manufacturer of wind measurement systems for the global wind energy industry, has announced the addition of two new products: the Windcube™ lidar remote sensor and the SymphoniePLUS™ 15-channel data logger. “For more than twenty-five years, NRG Systems has been devoted to providing complete wind measurement systems to the industry,” said Jan Blittersdorf, president and CEO of NRG Systems. “We know our customers demand improved accuracy and reliability of their wind resource data and we are dedicated to meeting their needs.” NRG Systems recently announced a joint venture with Leosphere, leading specialist in lidar (laser radar) for atmospheric observations, to expand the use of remote sensing with lidar in the wind energy industry. The first product of the partnership is the Windcube™ lidar wind measurement system, a remote sensor used in site assessment and wind farm performance monitoring. “2009 has been an exciting year for NRG Systems,” said Barton Merle-Smith, NRG Systems director of marketing and sales. “With the infusion of stimulus dollars into wind energy, I believe a tidal wave of activity is about to hit our industry. When that wave hits, NRG Systems will be ready to meet demand.” In addition to the Windcube™, NRG Systems has introduced the SymphoniePLUS™, 15-channel data logger built on the same platform as the NRG Symphonie data logger. The three additional anemometer channels can be activated as needed, and users can process both Symphonie and SymphoniePLUS™ data with the data retrieval software included in the package. The SymphoniePLUS™ will be offered at the same price-point as the Symphonie.
