URUGUAY: the first meeting of wind energy players was held in Uruguay, under the name "Opportunities under development".

The meeting was held on Tuesday, April 21, organized jointly by the Wind Energy Program of the National Direction of Energy and Nuclear Technology (DNETN) and the Chamber of Industries of Uruguay (CIU).

It featured presentations by the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Daniel Martínez, Director of Energy, Ramón Méndez and the Director of Industries, Roberto Kreimerman. For the private sector, the presentations were related to regional wind developments.

Workshops

The workshops involved a team of expert moderators, and created a space for dialogue among different stakeholders on the proposed topics for the organization. The participants contributed their point of view on the involvement of industry and national services in the development of wind energy in Uruguay.

In three workshops, they were discussing the policy, strategic-commercial, partnerships, financial and technological aspects, all applied to the Uruguayan case.

Attendees

Developers of wind farms that have expressed interest in projects in Uruguay, wind turbine manufacturers, industrialists and national sectors related to wind power generation, financial institutions and other bodies such as the University of the Republic.
