Energies of Portugal (EDP), interested on investing in Venezuela.

On last May 14th, Energies of Portugal (EDP) showed interest on investing in Venezuela concerning the production of wind power and gas extraction, following bilateral agreements that were raised on the previous day between the Portuguese Utility and Venezuelan country.

The condition of Venezuela, especially in the area of the exploitation of gas, makes it an attractive market for European business. This was reported during the visit of the manager of the Portuguese energy to the initiating act of exploration Block Boyacá 5 of the Orinoco Oil Belt, a project of the Venezuelan state.

In the agreements initialed by both nations, there are five letters of intent and three memoranda of understanding, all of this for the development of projects in the areas:
* Environmental *Health *Electric * Fisheries & *Alternative energy.
