Korean Entrepreneurs interested in investing in plants for wind towers

On the past May 27, the secretary of Economic Development of Mexico reported that a group of Korean businessmen are interested in investing in a plant to produce towers for wind power generation; several Mexican entities are being analyzed, but it will be most likely installed in the state of Nuevo Leon.

The secretary assured the investment of these Korean entrepreneurs, but the final decision of where the project will be placed will be announced in the next days.

This group of businessmen is dedicated to the production of towers for wind power generation, so if they install in Nuevo Leon, the company Frisa would be their provider of the rings that we needed for adjusting the tower’s operation. Those rings would be produced in the new plant that Frisa is constructing in Garcia, Nuevo Leon.

“On this weekend, some representatives of the Korean company were present. They want to install a factory in Mexico to manufacture these towers; it is an investment of around 40 million dollars in the first phase, and another 40 million dollars in the second phase”.

“It is a negotiation that is very advanced. At the beginning of June, we will know the decision of the company”, said the federal representative.

In reality, this plan will be fulfilled with the expectation of the state government to attract 50 million dollars by way of Foreign Direct Investment (IED), during the second quarter of the year.
