Aiming to develop a wind turbine manufacturing industry, the South American countries Chile and Uruguay will sign, by next July, a bilateral protocol for joint action on energy, especially wind power.

Both countries seek synergies to complement their industries and noted the intention to manufacture wind turbines to be installed in the wind farms located in their territories. Furthermore, they contemplated the idea of exporting them, once the domestic demand is covered.

The Director of Energy of Uruguay said that both countries agree to build in some places in Uruguay and Chile, to thus ensure a larger-scale manufacturing, being two nations working together.
