MEXICO; Meteosim TrueWind does a new wind map of the state of Jalisco

Meteosim TrueWind has used the system MesoMapTM to produce a high-resolution wind map for 200.000km2, covering the whole state of Jalisco, México. The map shows the long-term wind at the hub height of the entire interest area with a final resolution of 100 m.

The wind maps – that are available for wind project developers and promoters – although they do not eliminate the necessity of quality anemometric measures, they allow to reduce the time and costs that are necessary to indentify and select convenient areas for wind projects, at the same time they allow a preliminary estimation of the production of future wind farms.

Both, the results and an extended explanation of the methodology will be exposed at WIND EXPO LAWEA 2008, from the 5 to the 7 of November 2008 in Jalisco, Mexico.
