They will install the first experimental wind farm

On the past July 5, the National Energy Commission (CNE) made official the generation of 9.5 MW at the first experimental wind farm, which is expected to be completed and start operations before the ending of 2008. This project was a government's initiative as a measure to manage the elevated oil prices worldwide.

This project was initiated by the Basic Energy group, and the wind farm will be located in the town of Oviedo in the province Pedernales. At the same time, it was announced that in Puerto Plata, other 100mW farms will be built, whose cost would decrease approximately 20% and 30%.
