The Chilean company "Kas Engineering" submitted an environmental impact study to the authority of Chile a few days ago; by means of building a wind farm of 500 MW, which would have a cost of 1 000 million dollars.

A group of Chilean investors called Krokis developed the initiative, and with the delivery of the study, they are only waiting for the approval. The park would have 243 Vestas wind turbines with a capacity of 2MW and 3MW.

The park's construction could begin in the last quarter of this year and is expected to conclude in late 2011. Nevertheless, it was announced that this project would be connected to the Central Interconnected System of Chile.
