The government will install two wind turbines
In order to make strategic trials, the government will acquire two -1- KW low-power turbines. Those turbines will be placed in 2 significant places; the first one in Lavandero, a control pint of the park San Guillermo, and the second in the Elizondo Mountains of Fertile Valley.
These sites were chosen because they are areas where the Network of Conventional Power does not reach, a situation that makes it relevant, since it will provide electricity to the habitants of these areas.
This will be the first time that this governance invests in wind power generators. "We are making efforts to buy two low-power generators for testing, and comparing prices. The goal is to try first to verify their operation and the possibility of being installed at homes in those areas that count with good winds," said the Energy Resources of Argentina title-holder.
It is worth mentioning that the region of San Juan only has three wind turbines: one in Gendarmeria in Arrequintín Iglesia, which is out of service and getting repaired; the second one in Don Carmelo, of private inventiveness; and the third is the one built by Barrick in Veladero Company, which will be inaugurated within a few days. For the last one mentioned, the group La Minera invested $ 9 million, and the 2 MW turbine will provide power to the 17 MW that are consumed throughout the productive core of the mine, the processing plant and the camp.
