Argentina: Company would add 2 wind power generators.

Recently, an olive company announced that will buy 2 wind turbines in order to bestow them to the wind farm that the government of La Rioja plans to build north of the province and contribute to the strengthening of energy supply to productive sector of the zone.

This company is Argentina’s Frio Industries, which confirm directly to the governor of La Rioja the initiative to provide 2 turbines of 2.1 MW for the wind farm that will begin to build in the area of La Puerta. It will be invested about $ 7 million dollars for the wind turbines and could be purchased in Germany or Denmark.

The Oil Company that will provide the 2 wind turbines expects that equipment starts working within a period not longer than 12 months. The company is dedicated to the development of olive oil and preserves; has 170 hectares of olive trees implanted in the region of Arauco.

It is important to mention, that the Argentina’s Frio Industries company makes the proposal to provide 2 turbines, due to a contribution that needs to be done to renewable energy by a statement of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), from the National Environmental Secretary, because of the manufacture of regeneration gas.

However, it was announced to the governor that a study has been submitted recently to make biomass in La Rioja, with all the pomace that is generated from the exploitation of the olive tree, to generate alternative energy. It stipulates that this was presented and could be develop in the short term.
