CHILE: Methanol manufacturer will build a wind farm.

Recently the company Methanex announced its incursion into the development of renewable energy, with the construction of a wind farm that will have an investment of approximately $ 5 million dollars and is expected to become operational next year; this plant will have a wind generation capacity of 2.3 MW. This initiative comes in response to the Argentine lack of gas that used to feed this region.

It is important to announce that this wind farm will be the third of its kind in Chile, and will have 3 turbines, each of 60 meters high and 3 blades 50 meters in diameter, with a nominal capacity of 800 KW and will be located at the entrance of the complex in Cabo Negro.

This wind farm will be built on the lands of Magellanes, because it is considered feasible by the climatic characteristics of the area .
