The initial investment was USD$ 145 million. The open event had important guests invited: the Argentine and Brazil president and the chairman of IMPSA WIND.

That plant is located in the port complex of Suape, has an area of 27 hectares and was built in eight months and has expectations to be expanded for the year 2010. The wind turbines that will be manufactured in this factory will supply 10 wind farms of the IMPSA group.

The plant will have capacity to manufacture 300 wind turbines of 1.5 MW per year. It will also have the capacity to produce turbines and generators for hydroelectric plants of great size, starting in 2010.

Therefore, for the first year will be manufactured 66 turbines of 1.5 MW, which will supply three wind farms in Ceara. The projects are Praia do Morgado (28.8 MW), Beaches of Parajuru (28.8 MW) and do Volta River (42 MW).

The next planned 145 generators will be installed in ten wind farms in 2009, which are located in Santa Catarina, with an investment of 750 million dollars.

During the inauguration ceremony the person in charge of the division noted that the generators that will be manufactured and installed in Brazil are similar to those that are built in Mendoza and will be part of the wind farm to be located in the area of La Puerta, in La Rioja.
