MEXICO: Project for the building of a wind farm in Tamaulipas.

The Tamaulipas state has infrastructure program which considers the first phase of the Urban Park “La Escondida”, the plan aims to promote culture of environmental technologies and renewable energy, leading to safeguard a protected area and prevent pollution in cities like Reynosa.

Among the most important works on this program is to build a wind farm with a capacity of 39 MW, which will generate clean energy and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, this way Tamaulipas will become the second state to produce renewable energy. Still has not revealed the cost of investment and the specific location of the place, but it will contribute to supply the energy demand of some municipalities, the state government and the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas.

Also this program provides care for the backwardness in building urban spaces that respect the natural habitat, as well as treatment plants, landfill creation and promotion of environmental works.

That strategy works on preserving the environment through the care and restoration of the ecology; this will be achieved with the renewal of laws and institutions.
