MEXICO: Solar and wind power could be included in energy reform.

On September 9, energy and environmental organizations demand to the Senate of the Mexican Republic, to incorporate in the energy reform, alternative sources such as solar and wind power.

A representative of the Energy Transition Network mentioned that the government representatives should act upon saving the energy, the use of alternative resources and an urban design to optimize energy and reduce the consequences caused by pollutants.

Among the proposals that were handed to the chairman of the Senate Energy Committee, are, solar, wind, bioenergy, geothermal, mini-hydro and wave.

It also required taking advantage and promoting public transportation systems clean and the new generation of automotive technology, using hybrid and diesel models, in addition to incorporate the use of modern materials and best practices of architectural design in buildings. .
