NEWS

HONDURAS; The President opens a Wind Power Project.

On the past October 1st, the president of Honduras inaugurated a wind power Project with a capacity of 100 MW, promoted by the company Solar Energy and Wind Resource, placed in Santa Ana; with this, they expect to reduce the thermal energy dependence.

The farm will operate in Cerro de Hula, viable location due to strong winds.

Likewise, in the inauguration, the president referred to the tendency for wind projects worldwide, due to the increased oil prices.

Unfortunately, Honduras has dependence on oil because the 70% of the energy comes from thermal sources, the rest has its origin by hydroelectric or biomass, and wind power is now being added.
