PERU: MEM grants concessions for wind studies to generate electricity.

On the past October 8th, in Lima, Peru, the Ministry of Energy and Mines reported that they granted temporary concessions for the company SOLEOL, with the purpose of developing studies for the generation of electricity through wind power in the municipalities of Ancash, Lima and Libertad.

Therefore, the company will hold studies in the future wind farms: Casma, Huacho and Pacasmayo, with an expected installed capacity of 50 MW, each; so, it is planned that the total installed capacity of the three projects will be 150 MW, and the investigation will have a term of two years.

It was mentioned that the concessionaire is obliged to carry out the studies respecting the technical and safety standards, preserving the environment and the cultural heritage of the nation.
