DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: The country’s first wind park built in Haina

“EGE-HAINA” is building the country’s first wind park with a generation capacity of 25 MW, in its first stage. The company’s CEO made reference to the constitution of EGE-Haina, with the international public bid tender process for the capitalization of the then Dominican Corporation of Electricity.

It was conformed at 50% with capitals from Haina Invesment Company Ltd., - a partnership made up of national and international investors and the Fondo Patrimonial de Empresas Reformadas (FONPER) besides other smaller shareholders.

It was also emphasized, that to the present EGE-HAINA, is one of the major private companies in the country’s energy mix, with an installed capacity of 600 MW, which represents 20% of the total national electrical system, with plants in Haina, Puerto Plata, Barahona and San Pedro de Macorís

With the increase in energy consumption, EGE-HAINA is set in a policy of continuous growth and diversification based on technological advancement and habitat conservation.
