URUGUAY: In the middle of December they will start bidding for up to 150 MW of wind power

Spanish, German, Danish, Brazilian, Argentinean and Uruguayan companies expressed their interest. The bidding process establishes that the companies must be well known and top class. A minimum of three and a maximum of five parks will be constructed. Different combinations from three 50 MW or five 30 MW parks can be used for a total of 150 MW.

One of the facts that have sparked interest in this bidding is the change of scale of the project, which is 15 times bigger than the actual 10 MW UTE wind park.

Technical studies were performed on 20 different locations in all the country. The selected ones were three: Piedras de Afilar (Canelones), Pintado (Florida) and Peralte (Tacuarembó).
