LATINOAMERICA; Spanish company has projects with investment exceeding 800 million Euros in Latin America.

 

It was said on last December 7th, in Madrid, Spain, that the Spanish company IBERDROLA ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION is developing several projects in Latin America with an investment amounting to 800 million Euros, highlighting the areas of renewable energy, as well as the nuclear sector and the transport and distribution of electricity.

Its major projects in the region are located in Brazil and Mexico. In Mexico, the company is building the wind farm la Venta III for IBERDROLA RENEWABLES, with an installed power of 100 MW and an investment of 35 million Euros.

It should be noted that in Mexico, they have the project of the Laguna Verde nuclear plant, with the aim of increasing the energy production capacity by 20%. However, in terms of transport and distribution of electricity, IBERDROLA ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION and the CFE, after signing the contract with a budget of 120 million Euros, they are working for improvement in several states of Mexico.

While in Brazil, together with the power company ELECTRONUCLEAR, they are working on a project that consists of replacing the steam generators, as well as inspection and maintenance of the central of Angra I; also supporting for fuel refills of this plant, investing around of the 500 million Euros in this project.

Finally, the company has more projects in more countries like Venezuela with an investment of 160 million Euros. It should be noted that the projects of the company, are mostly located outside Spain, and they are present in over 25 countries.
